The Great Departmental Folklore Parade

The Great Departmental Folklore Parade of Galapa is one of the most representative events of the Atlantic Carnival, founded in 1982 by Fermín Ahumada, Edilma Enríquez, and Óscar Fernández. This parade celebrates 44 years of exalting Caribbean identity and projecting Galapa as the epicenter of folklore in the department. More than 160 folkloric groups, dance troupes, costumes, and over 7,000 Carnival participants take part in this celebration that honors the most indigenous traditions.
