About the program

What is Route 23?

Route 23 is the cultural and gastronomic tourism strategy of the Government of Atlántico, connecting the 22 municipalities and the District of Barranquilla through their crafts, flavors, and traditions.

Led by First Social Manager Liliana Borrero de Verano, this initiative has enabled Atlantic crafts to reach 19 countries, generate sales of close to one million dollars, and put the region in the spotlight at events such as Maison & Objet Paris and the Tonantzin International Award in Mexico.

More than 1,000 weavers have mastered ancestral stitches such as ojito de perdiz, catatumba, and panal. Their pieces have the Icontec Seal of Quality.

Everything you need to know about Atlantic cuisine and crafts

Route 23 is an initiative of the Government of Atlántico that connects the 23 municipalities of the department through their traditional cuisine and crafts. It is a cultural and gastronomic tour that promotes the authentic flavors of the Colombian Caribbean, with 18 food festivals a year and more than 900 trained artisans. Route 23 has managed to export handicrafts to 19 countries, generating more than $1 million USD in annual exports.
